Crochet with ribbons

One day, Sister Christine Davies brought in boxes and boxes of ribbons to give away to the RS sisters. I took some. This is what I did to them. Crocheted with a 9mm hook and two ribbons together....the basic pattern, I learnt it from the blog by 'laughing purple goldfish (really a great blog with lots of step by step details)', modifying it after realising that I dont have enough ribbons to make a bag - :-(

It thus became a basket to put my yarn while I crochet so that the ball can still roll about freely, but not all over the place.....The yarns in the basket would be my next crochet project - I want to do a bag...yes, a bag!! ( that would be my 5th attempt at making a bag - all my previous attempts ended up being anything but a bag (one of them also ended up as a basket for my nativity display....). If anyone thinks my ribbon basket is pretty, it is flash photography trick - if you could only see my crude hand sewing on the lining, yes, eyes will roll! Ha ha but I am still happy - this is my first attempt at doing lining...first timers are always allowed disasters for everything... :-) ..Second picture - the mess I have created at just a single sewing project.......
